The Specialist Management Training Programme is bespoke to managers working in a specialist sector of the construction industry and is being delivered via the Specialists Trade Federations and Associations to ensure the sector specific context and work requirements are fully understood and integrated into the training.  This training programme (face-to-face workshops, blended learning and related workbooks) together with assessment for the Level 6 NVQ Diploma in Construction Contracting Operations (CCO) – General, will give individuals the knowledge and understanding to progress from operative and supervisory level to a management role and undertake management activities within an SME company, for example, as a Contracts Manager and achieve a recognised management qualification.

As specialists do not usually have responsibility for the overall management of construction sites or projects, but are responsible for management of the specialist aspects/activities on a site or as part of a larger project, the Level 6 NVQ Diploma in Construction Contracting Operations (CCO) is the most appropriate. The Construction Contracting Operations (CCO) will therefore, provide specialist managers with a much better opportunity to accrue relevant work-based evidence from their projects towards achieving a Level 6 Management qualification.
